Gallagher Recycling Solutions (GRS) was established in October 2010 as part of the business objective of increasing recycling and reducing our carbon footprint year on year.
The aim of this division of the business is to achieve 0% to landfill by the end of 2012 through recycling and stabilisation of our utility trench arisings. The business now has a protocol and control system in place for the compliant production of Appendix 9 soil stabilisation product from utility arisings from our depot in Salford, which operates under an Environmental Permit (EPR/JP3591EE). The depot is able to accept the following waste products:
• 17.01.01. Clean Concrete
• 17.01.07. Mixed Concrete, brick, tiles and ceramics, not containing dangerous substances.
• 17.03.02. Bituminous Material not containing dangerous substances
• 17.05.04. Inert Soil & Stones, not containing dangerous substances
• 17.05.08. Track Ballast, not containing dangerous substances
• 17.09.04. Mixed Utility Waste, not containing dangerous substances
We are currently producing an approved Appendix 9 Type 1 Subbase equivalent recycled and stabilised aggregate. Up to date test results are attached to this webpage.
