T & K Gallagher Ltd was started in 2000 by Tom Gallagher our Managing Director, with just three employees delivering water maintenance services in the Manchester area.

By 2005 our team had grown significantly to number over 130 delivering services to the water, gas and telecoms sectors.

2007 2007
2007

In 2007 we set-up Go Traffic Management (GTM) to support our business and realise an efficiency but also to build a traffic management team who better understood the utilities industry, our clients and customers.

2010

2010 saw us move into our current Head Office in Salford, by now we numbered over 260. In 2010 we also opened our Gallagher Recycled Solutions business (GRS) to help us increase our recycling and reduce our carbon footprint. GRS produces an approved Appendix 9 Type 1 sub-base equivalent recycled and stabilised aggregate in our Salford, Sheffield and Derby facilities.

Having seen a number of our competitors’ fall in what is a challenging industry, we realised that continued innovation was key to a sustainable future. We identified the opportunity to invest in an IT system which would become the back-bone of our business, our GARD system was introduced in 2012.

In 2015 we have over 600 personnel delivering a plethora of services for our clients across the water, gas, power and telecoms industries and have further invested in developing our GARD system. For further information on our GARD system please click on the logo below.

2017

In 2017, the business acquired Overlec, an overhead lines specialist with strong existing relationships in both Scottish Power and SSE. Alongside this acquisition, the business entered the energy metering market, establishing new contracts for both smart and traditional metering with National Grid.

2018

2018 has seen the business continue its development, with over £50m/annum of new contracts mobilised over the first six months. New relationships include direct delivery contracts with both Western Power Distribution and Severn Trent Water.
